Information: Two people are dead after a traffic crash on West State Street in Boise. At 11:07 this morning, Anna Montoya, 62, of Boise was driving her 1998 Lexus north on North Bogart. After stopping at the stop sign, Montoya attempted to drive straight across State Street and continue onto North Bogart but pulled into the path of a GMC pick-up truck driven by Kenneth West, 32, of Boise. West, who was driving west on State Street, hit the Lexus. West's truck continued on to the right shoulder of the road and hit a power pole. West was not transported to the hospital. His passenger, Denise Mettler, 41 of Boise was taken to St. Luke's downtown and is expected to fully recover.
The impact of the crash caused Montoya's Lexus to spin off the road and in to the canal at the northwest corner of the intersection of State and Bogart. Both rear seat passengers were ejected through the rear window. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. The female passenger, 71, of Boise and the male passenger, 72, of Boise were taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medial Center where they were pronounced dead. Both Montoya and the front seat passenger, Ken Aldrich, 54, of Boise had to be extricated from the car. Aldrich was taken to St. Alphonsus where he is listed in critical condition. Montoya was transported to St. Luke's downtown. Her injuries did not appear life threatening.
