The Sheriff's Marine Patrol Unit combines enforcement and education to ensure safety and maintain quality recreational opportunities for every citizen of Ada County.

The Marine Patrol Unit treats every contact during the season as an educational opportunity for the boater. Boating safety education classes are given throughout the year and cover everything from drug and alcohol violations and diving injuries along the shores to boating violations and accidents on the water.
