Qualifications

The law enforcement profession has a very stringent employment process to insure only the best will be called to serve in this high level of trust and responsibility. You must possess integrity, strong communication skills, a firm reassuring manner, and sound judgment under pressure.


All applicants must meet all of the requirements listed in the job posting. Additionally, you must meet the following minimum requirements and the Sheriff's Hiring Standards:


Deputy Qualifications

Must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Idaho driver’s license and:

   Patrol Deputy:

   Detention Deputy:

**Only those colleges/universities with regional accreditation will be accepted.  Regional accreditation agencies include: Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, New England Association of Schools and Colleges, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and Western Association of Schools and Colleges.  To verify if a school is regionally accredited, click here.

Non-Deputy Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet these minimum age requirements:
