Driver cited for failure to yield to police car
Tuesday, November 1

Ada County Sheriff's deputies issued a citation to the Boise driver who collided with a Boise Police patrol car Monday evening.

The crash happened at about 5:10 p.m. Oct. 31 on State Street near 34th Street. A Boise Police patrol car was responding to a call for service with lights and sirens on. Information and evidence gathered on scene shows the officer was driving west in the center turn lane  of State Street at 35 to 40 miles per hour when the driver of a Ford Escort pulled into the officer's lane of travel. The Boise Police officer swerved but was unable to avoid  the Escort.

The driver of the Escort, a Boise man in his mid-20's, was issued a traffic citation on an infraction of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Neither the driver of the Escort or the Boise Police officer reported any injuries.
