Boise man and woman arrested on aggravated battery charges
Thursday, October 6

A Boise man and woman are in the Ada County Jail accused of beating a woman for telling them to “slow down” while driving through an apartment complex last night.

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Brogan Village Apartments just after 10:15 Wednesday night for a report of a fight. When deputies arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman with injuries to her head and face and a 25-year-old male with minor injuries.

Witnesses reported that the woman had been attacked by two people later identified as Nicole E. Raymond, 24, and Robert James Elam, 30, both of Boise.

According to multiple witnesses, the 35-year-old female and 25-year-old male victims had been walking in the complex when Raymond drove by with Elam as her passenger. The man and woman walking yelled to Raymond to “slow down.”

Witnesses say that’s when Raymond parked the vehicle and got out yelling loudly at the walkers. Raymond and Elam walked over to the pair and pushed the male to the ground. Detectives say Elam then held the female down as Raymond hit her multiple times in the face.

Witnesses immediately called 9-1-1 to report the attack to Ada County dispatchers.

Sheriff’s deputies and Ada County paramedics responded. The 35-year-old female was transported to a local hospital to be treated with multiple fractures in her face and bruising to the back of her head.

Immediately after the incident, before deputies arrived, Raymond and Elam ran to a relative’s second-floor apartment to hide. Deputies were able to find the pair a short time later.

Based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Raymond and Elam were arrested on charges of aggravated battery. Both were booked into the Ada County Jail and are scheduled to be arraigned on the felony charges later today in district court.
