
The Ada County Sheriff’s Planning & Research Unit provides information and analysis for the Ada County Jail, emergency communications center and 911 dispatch, patrol teams, investigations and other areas within the agency. We track and report on police activity and crime, evaluate the success of agency initiatives, survey community and employee opinion, and provide data to guide and support strategic planning. We have teams who focus on different target areas, including:
Planning – strategic planning, performance measurement and policy development
Research – research and recommend evidence-based solutions and best practices
Crime Analysis Unit – provide tactical and strategic crime analysis to help reduce crime and arrest criminals
Business Systems – evaluate and manage our business system needs and information pathways
NIBRS – uniform crime reporting under the National Incident-Based Reporting System
