Chief Brian Hippe is a Lieutenant with the Ada County Sheriff's Office who has served Ada County for 14 years. He returns to Eagle nearly ten years after leaving there as a patrol deputy, bringing back a great deal of knowledge and experience.

In his many years in the field of law enforcement he gained valuable experience working in the ACSO Jail and Court Services Bureau as a detention officer and in its Police Services Bureau as a patrol deputy and training officer, a detective and school resource officer and marine patrol deputy. Additionally, after being promoted to Sergeant in 2005, he served as the Alternative Sentencing Programs supervisor and juvenile investigations supervisor.

Now as a Lieutenant within the Ada County Sheriff's Office, he is truly honored to be back in the fine City of Eagle to serve the community as the City's Chief of Police. The City of Eagle Police is committed to providing the highest quality of police service to the City of Eagle with crime prevention and problem solving being of highest priority. Chief Hippe is committed to maintaining the quality of life that the City of Eagle is known for and deserves.

The mission of the City of Eagle Police is to create safer places for you to live, work and play. We accomplish this through our knowledge, skills, service, ability to make a positive difference and commitment to uphold community trust.

In 1996, the city began contracting with the Ada County Sheriff's Office for dedicated law enforcement services. The City of Eagle Police is currently staffed with a police chief, two sergeants, ten patrol officers, two detectives, two traffic officers and a field services technician. These officers can call on fellow deputies outside of Eagle for assistance when necessary. The partnership between the City of Eagle and the Ada County Sheriff's Office means the city has access to all of the County's law enforcement resources without the administrative costs of running a fully independent police department.
